June Evening Educational Event: Cultivating Resiliency for Total Wellbeing
Topic: Cultivating Resiliency for Total Wellbeing
Working professionals are constantly faced with high demanding workloads that can often lead to high burnout. How do you protect yourself? Burnout is an endemic problem and professionals must nurture and cultivate personal resilience as a defense mechanism for total well-being. Resilience is defined as an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change. Elements of personal resilience include: self-awareness, mindfulness, sense of purpose and meaning, self-care, and supportive relationships. Resilient people do not let adversity define them. They find resilience by moving towards a goal beyond themselves, transcending pain and grief by perceiving difficult times as a temporary state of affairs.
Learning objectives:
1. Understand the 5 pillars of wellbeing.
2. Identify personal stressors and what we can and cannot control in our lives, when to hold on, and when to let go.
3. Learn practical tools to build resiliency in an ever-demanding work environment.
