Chapter Awards Program   

 Nominate Some for the New IAEE DC Chapter Awards Program

The Chapter Awards Program is designed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements, innovation, and dedication of our local chapters throughout the year. This program highlights the impactful work being done at the grassroots level to support the organization’s mission, engage members, and promote excellence in leadership, programming, and community outreach.

Each year, chapters members are invited to submit nominations showcasing their accomplishments in various categories. Submissions are reviewed by a selection committee.

Winners are honored at the Chapter Annual Meeting and featured in the Chapter Newsletter and Chapter's digital media.

Submission Period: Nominations closes on September 15, 2025

IAEE DC Chapter Awards - Categories

B. Murphy Lifetime Achievement Award of the Year (Individual)

Purpose: Honors a long-standing member who has demonstrated outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to the IAEE DC Chapter and the broader events industry.

Criteria:

  • Minimum of 15 years in the events and exhibitions industry.

  • Active involvement in the IAEE DC Chapter for at least 5 years.

  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and sustained contributions to the profession.

  • Notable impact on the industry, such as thought leadership, committee participation, or advocacy.

  • Embodies the values of integrity, service, and professionalism.

 

Nominate Someone for B. Murphy Achievement Award

Emerging Professional Award of the Year (Individual)

Purpose: Recognizes a rising star in the industry who has shown exceptional promise and engagement early in their career.

Criteria:

  • 1–5 years of professional experience in the events and exhibitions industry.

  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and leadership potential.

  • Active involvement in IAEE DC Chapter programs, volunteer opportunities, or committees

  • Positive influence within their organization, chapter or the industry through innovation, teamwork, or fresh thinking.

  • Commitment to professional development and learning.

  • Young (Emerging) Professional are classified as 35 years of age or younger

 

Nominate Someone for Emerging Professional Award

Member Engagement Award of the Year
(Individual or Company)

Purpose: Celebrates outstanding commitment to member engagement and community building within the IAEE DC Chapter.

Criteria:

  • Consistent participation in chapter events and initiatives.

  • Contributions to building a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive chapter community.

  • Exceptional efforts in recruiting, retaining, or mentoring IAEE DC Chapter members.

  • May include organizing events, developing content, or supporting member-focused campaigns.

  • Demonstrated passion for strengthening chapter connections, prospects and advancing member value.
