Welcome to IAEE Washington D.C. Chapter
Greetings from the Chair
Serving Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland
DeVonne Parks, CEM
I am truly honored to serve as your 2012 Chapter Chair. Our mission is always to provide powerful educational programs, exciting special events, lots of networking, and marketing opportunities for people committed to the exhibition and events industry and I’d like to continue our mission vibrantly in 2012.
To start the New Year, our concentrated theme is “Cultivating Change.” You asked, what do you mean by cultivating change? Simply means taking a huge step in the industry in 2012. It can be growing your professional and personnel relations within the industry, outside the industry, and within our chapter. It can also mean to take charge of your life. Get a new job, ask for a promotion/raise, make new friends, or find new business relations. Whatever you feel that is holding you back, take charge. With these economic times, it’s no doubt we must be on our toes and by this theme it can help you be more vigilant throughout the year.
In addition, if you have been coming to our lunch programs, wonderful! Please let us know how we can improve to meet your needs. If you have not been coming to our programs in a while, make this year, the year you to commit to attend at least two of our programs. You never know what you are missing: learning/education, meeting new friends, industry colleagues and networking.
Our plan this year is to have more exceptional programming, more networking events and more community service activities to meet your needs. Furthermore, we would like to expand our luncheon locations to meet the needs of people in the surrounding areas. Your membership is key to creating this success.
There are a multitude of opportunities for becoming involved as a volunteer or a leader, and I hope that will take an active interest in the Chapter as we embark on a New Year.
Thank you for visiting our website and I look forward to seeing you soon at our luncheon and networking events.
Here’s to 2012!
Sincerely,
|
